Upper Aljunied Road

MEDITERRANEAN-MOROCCAN INSPIRED | BTO HDB

A home shaped by instinct and memory, this space was never about perfection, but about feeling. Drawn to the warmth of Mediterranean homes and the rawness of Moroccan textures, the homeowners gravitated towards materials that felt honest, surfaces with depth, age, and quiet character.

The layout was opened up to support the rhythm of daily life, where mornings begin with coffee and conversation moving easily between the kitchen and living area. A structural column became a bookshelf over time, while a breezy brick wall filters light and air at the entrance, softening the boundary between outside and in.

Hands-on from the start, the homeowners painted the limewashed walls themselves, laid each tile by hand, and brought in pieces collected from different places, from custom lamps to a Moroccan sink. Nothing felt overly planned, yet everything found its place.

What was created was not a finished home, but a beginning, one that continues to take shape with every object, every plant, every memory added along the way.
