Cairnhill Nine

DARK CONTEMPORARY | CONDOMINIUM

For a young couple and their dog, this home was imagined as a quiet retreat from the rhythm of the city. A space where dark tones breathe warmth and calm rather than weight. The palette is restrained yet rich, layered in black charcoal and walnut wood that soften beneath the afternoon light.

Cabinetry becomes part of the architecture, its fluted rhythm giving depth and shadow to the walls. Black marble lines the kitchen and bath, its veins catching soft reflections from the concealed lighting. Each surface feels tactile and honest, crafted to age beautifully with touch.

The hallway opens with a grid of checkered tiles that hint at movement before leading into the main living space. Here, warm light gathers against the timber and fabric, creating a quiet hum of comfort. A small coffee corner sits by the kitchen, glowing gently like a ritual that begins every morning.

This home speaks softly. It tells its story through texture and proportion, through the way light rests on dark surfaces. A calm, tactile stillness for two people (and one happy dog) to live within.

A Google Review, from the Owners.

We had the pleasure of working with Intheory as the designer for our resale condo. Throughout the 7-month process, from the initial consultation to the design and final product, they always made us a priority and attended to every idea and request that we had.

They bring extensive experience in the industry. They carefully listened to our requirements and thoughtfully suggested the best course of action based on their knowledge. We felt assured throughout the renovation process and were grateful to have them oversee every little detail in an organised way.

During the initial design stage, we particularly enjoyed the creative process of bouncing ideas off each other. The reconfiguration of our bathroom entrance to incorporate a new storage space was achieved in a fun and collaborative way, and we thank Intheory for listening to our needs and suggestions to arrive at the final layout.

We are very happy with the design of our home and want to thank Intheory for their meticulous project management in achieving the final outcome.
