We met this warm, close-knit family of five on a quiet afternoon and quickly understood their goal: a home that wasn’t just beautiful, but one that supported their fast-paced, everyday rhythm. Drawn to Mid-Century Modern design, they embraced dark-stained woods, clean stone surfaces, and bold tiles to create a timeless foundation.
The once-enclosed kitchen was opened up to become the true heart of the home bright, spacious, and designed for both family bonding and morning efficiency. A grab-and-go counter helps the children move smoothly through the school-day rush, turning a hectic routine into a cherished daily moment for their mother.
In the living room, a handcrafted arch with detailed tilework serves as a quiet, personal focal point, while the open layout supports the family’s frequent gatherings. Upstairs, custom rattan-textured wardrobes bring a gentle, sentimental touch inspired by the wife’s childhood memories of her mother knitting.
The washroom was redesigned into wet and dry zones for practical, shared use. Hotel-like yet full of character, it features terracotta Kit-Kat tiles, Robusta terrazzo, and playful maroon piping.
More than a house, the finished home is a thoughtful backdrop for their lives warm, personal, and truly theirs.
